Christmas Mini's 2016 / by Jason Rushing

Well we are finally on the opposite side of the Christmas mini's.  We were able to shoot in an old warehouse that despite being a nice day never reached warmer than the mid 40's,  and after some hiccups with gear, we persevered on.  At the end of the day we were dusty, we were tired, we were hungry, but most of all we had a very unique location with a Christmas scene that isn't easily reproduced.  Mini shoots are a completely different animal,  each shoot averaged 5-10 images but we could've easily provided much more.  A big hand to the mrs. on the quick turn-around so our clients can use them in cards or gifts.  We hope that everyone had a good time with the quick session and are very pleased with the results.  Here is a sample of the images from the mini's.  Couch rental from: Something Old Event Rentals, Warehouse Used by permission: Knapp Tile & Floor Covering Eureka IL

So I chose 2 from this session, but c'mon how great is this!

No pose needed with these two,  they come to it naturally.

With a side light that didn't fire I actually think that it helped the look of the shot.  Kind of like they're just sitting in their living room on cold winter night just relaxing as a family.  Sometimes the best things are unplanned.

Little confession here,  this shot was completely unplanned.  I click as we get the scene and subjects set,  mainly so I know that when the subject(s) is ready then they don't need to wait on me to get set.  This was a setup shot......that was perfect!
