With this job comes meeting new people. We met Jessica & Brandon a few days ago on their couple shoot. These two really didn't have a special "reason" for the shoot other than to get a session together for each other. After working with kids so much lately it was really weird to not be constantly playing peek-a-boo or meowing like a cat for attention. I've done it so much I have done it out of habit mistakenly more than once. Well anyway here is a sample from their set.
Finally! A Saturday that's not rainy, windy, cloudy, or cold! 80 and an overload of sun was on today's weather docket. This little family is the first to take advantage of our May special and they got a great day with some great shots. Pierce is the little guy and he was awesome, mom and dad may have coached him a bit before hand, even so he did great. Anyway here are some samples from their shoot.
Mr. Augustine was our main subject tonight. We kicked out his 1 yr session and followed it up with a cake smash. We were back and forth on outside then inside then outside then inside because the weather wouldn't figure itself out and called for rain, then no rain and back and forth. So we decided on a lifestyle based session & just kept it simple and let him decide. He did have enough at the end and the cake would not brighten his mood. Sometimes a great shot doesn't have to be perfect with smiling subjects as you will see later in the blog post. This session had me laughing so much. I got in the van to leave and looked over at the mrs (my partner in crime) and just laughed. Well Augustine you gave us some laughs tonight.
A little more than a week ago we met Grayson at his fresh 48 session when he was just a little more than 24 hours old. Tonight we did his official newborn session. Babies are becoming the majority of our work now and I love it. A newborn has its own set of challenges, a newborn is in charge, if he wants to sleep, he sleeps, if he wants to eat, he eats, if he wants to poop, well he...... Tonight Grayson did all of those, but that's just part of the job. Grayson did great tonight, he had our baby fever kicking up......mine at least. Welcome Grayson, we'll be seeing a lot of each other I'm sure.
We knocked out a short shoot tonight with this group. With the weather finally staying nice and not pouring buckets of rain it was only logical to do this tonight. I did notice that we had a few mosquitoes to fight, I didn't know they were already out?! Well, here is a sample from the shoot.
After Micayla's mommy and me mini we brought dad in to do a family mini. These guys were fun. Not much to add, great day, great location, fun subjects to work with. Here is a sample of the images she will get, which by the way, she is getting way more than normal. Sometimes you can't help but overproduce.
Another mommy & me set in our group of mini's. Kids are a ton of fun, Braylen (the little guy) we found out is a fellow drummer! I like to hammer on the buckets myself, so of course like any good musician I showed him my setup I play on. We were instant friends. Here are a few from Micayla's mini.
This set of ladies was in the mix for our mommy & me mini's. But what makes this one special is dad is getting a boy later this year to help level the playing field a bit more. One thing in this line of work is you can never trust the weatherman. It was supposed to be raining and chilly all day, but after noon the sun came out and it warmed up. You may have mother figures in your life but you only have one actual mom. Here are a few from Monica's set.
